Volume converter
Convert litres, gallons, cups and more, US and UK
Runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
How it works
To convert a volume, multiply it by the size of the first unit in litres, then divide by the size of the second. A US gallon is exactly 3.785411784 litres, and a UK gallon is exactly 4.54609 litres, so always check which one you mean.
result = value × litres in first unit ÷ litres in second unit
US and UK units share names but not sizes. We label each one, so a US pint is never mixed up with a UK pint.
Worked example. To change 10 litres to US gallons: 10 ÷ 3.785411784 ≈ 2.64 gallons.
