Date difference calculator
Count the days, weeks and working days between dates
Runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
How it works
To find the number of days between two dates, count from the start date to the end date, leaving out the start date itself. From 1 January to 31 December 2026 is 364 days, or 365 if you count the end date as well. Tick the box to include it.
days = end date − start date
We use plain calendar dates with no time of day, so a clock change can’t add or remove a day.
Working days count Monday to Friday, with both ends included. They don’t skip public holidays.
Worked example. From 01 Jan 2026 to 31 Dec 2026 is 364 days. Count the end date as well and it’s 365, the whole year.

- Working days don’t account for public holidays.
Questions
Should I include the end date?
Include it when both days count, such as a hotel stay or a leave request. Leave it out for an age or a gap.
What if the end date is before the start?
We swap them and tell you.
Do working days skip holidays?
No. Holidays vary by state and country, so this counts Monday to Friday only.
How do I count the days between two dates?
Enter both dates. The tool handles month lengths and leap years, which is where counting by hand usually goes wrong.
How many weeks are between two dates?
Divide the number of days by 7. The result shows the full weeks and any days left over.
