Working days calculator
Count working days between two dates
Runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
How it works
To count working days, take all the days between two dates, then remove weekends and holidays. January 2026 has 31 days, of which 22 are Monday to Friday. Choose your weekend, because some places work six days. Add your own holidays, as they vary from state to state.
working days = all days − weekend days − holidays
We count both the start date and the end date. A day that’s both a weekend and a holiday only counts once.
Worked example. January 2026 has 31 days, of which 9 fall on a weekend. That leaves 22 working days before any holidays.
Examples
| Period in 2026 | Working days (Mon–Fri) |
|---|---|
| January | 22 |
| February | 20 |
| Whole year | 261 |
