Random number generator
Pick random numbers, with or without repeats
Runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
How it works
Set a minimum and a maximum, and this picks a random whole number between them, with every number equally likely. It uses your browser’s secure random generator, not a simple formula. Choose how many you need, and tick No repeats to make sure each number appears only once, as in a draw.
Each number from minimum to maximum is equally likely.
We use your browser’s secure generator, and throw away values that would favour some numbers over others.
With No repeats on, numbers come from a shuffled range, so each can only appear once.
Worked example. To pick a winner from 250 entries, set the minimum to 1 and the maximum to 250. To pick 3 winners, set How many to 3 and tick No repeats.
Examples
| Use | Minimum | Maximum | How many |
|---|---|---|---|
| Roll a die | 1 | 6 | 1 |
| Toss a coin (1 is heads) | 1 | 2 | 1 |
| Pick lottery numbers | 1 | 49 | 6, no repeats |

Questions
Is this truly random?
It uses your browser’s secure generator, which is suitable for draws and games.
Can I use it to pick a winner?
Yes. Number your entries, then pick a number between 1 and the total.
Why can’t I pick 10 numbers from 1 to 5 with no repeats?
There are only 5 numbers to choose from, so we tell you to widen the range.
How do I pick a random number between 1 and 100?
Set the lowest number to 1 and the highest to 100, then generate. Every whole number in the range has the same chance.
Can I generate several numbers with no repeats?
Yes. Choose how many you want and turn off repeats. It works like drawing tickets from a hat.
