# Unit price calculator

Compare pack sizes to find the best value

Use it at https://www.quicktoolz.com/tools/unit-price-calculator. From QuickToolz.

To compare two packs, divide each price by its size. A 500 g pack at ₹120 costs ₹24 per 100 g. A 1 kg pack at ₹220 costs ₹22 per 100 g, so the bigger pack is cheaper. Enter up to three items, in grams, kilograms, millilitres, litres or pieces.

## How it works

unit price = price ÷ size

We convert every item to the same unit first, so a pack in grams can be compared with one in kilograms.

Weight and volume can’t be compared directly, so we say so if you mix them.

Worked example: A 500 g pack at ₹120 is ₹24 per 100 g. A 1 kg pack at ₹220 is ₹22 per 100 g, so the bigger pack is cheaper here.

## Examples

| Item | Price | Price per 100 g |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 500 g pack | ₹120 | ₹24.00 |
| 1 kg pack | ₹220 | ₹22.00 |
| 250 g pack | ₹70 | ₹28.00 |

## What this tool doesn't cover

- This compares price only, not quality or how much you’ll use.

## Questions

### Is a bigger pack always cheaper?

No. Offers on small packs can beat large ones, which is why it’s worth checking.

### Can I compare grams with millilitres?

No. They measure different things, so we won’t pick a winner.

### What if I only fill in one item?

We show its unit price. You need two to compare.

### How do I work out a unit price?

Divide the price by the amount. A 500 g pack at ₹120 costs ₹0.24 per gram, or ₹240 per kg.

### Why should I compare unit prices?

Packs come in different sizes, so the sticker price can mislead. The unit price shows which one really costs less.
