# Case converter

Change text to upper, lower, title or sentence case

Use it at https://www.quicktoolz.com/tools/case-converter. From QuickToolz.

Paste your text and choose a style to change its capitals. Sentence case capitalises the first word of each sentence, and title case capitalises main words but keeps small ones lower. For code, you can also get camelCase, snake_case and kebab-case. Your text stays in your browser the whole time.

## How it works

Pick a style, and every letter is changed to match it. Numbers and punctuation stay.

Title case keeps short words such as “of” and “the” lower, unless they start or end the title. Words written in capitals, such as NASA, are left alone.

Worked example: “the lord of the rings” in title case is “The Lord of the Rings”, with small words kept lower.

## Examples

| Style | Result |
| --- | --- |
| Sentence case | The quick brown fox |
| Title Case | The Quick Brown Fox |
| UPPER CASE | THE QUICK BROWN FOX |
| camelCase | theQuickBrownFox |
| snake_case | the_quick_brown_fox |
| kebab-case | the-quick-brown-fox |

## What this tool doesn't cover

- Style guides differ on title case, so check yours for important headlines.
- Sentence case can’t tell which words are names.

## Questions

### What is the difference between title case and capitalised?

Title case keeps small words lower. Capitalised makes the first letter of every word a capital.

### What is camelCase?

Words run together, with a capital at each new word, such as totalPrice. It’s common in code.

### Is my text uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser, and your text isn’t saved or sent anywhere.

### What is sentence case?

Only the first word and proper names start with a capital. It’s easier to read than title case for most headings.

### What is snake_case used for?

Words are joined with underscores. It’s common for variable names in Python and for database columns.
